- Legal
support – Legal support - SBS has a global retainer with Proskauer Rose, an international law
firm. SBS clients have unlimited access to legal support for general
Human Resource and benefits related questions. Clients simply e-mail
their request to their dedicated Account Manager, SBS forwards to the
law firm, and our clients receive a written legal position from an
attorney. The turnaround time is generally less than 48 hours. Requests
that involve research that exceeds one hour will be identified as
project work and our client will have the option to use their corporate
council or obtain discounted fees from the firm retained by SBS.

Enrollment Management and Fulfillment – We take complete
control of your Open Enrollment process to ensure that all
your employees have their ID cards in their hands by your effective
date.

utilization management programs by the Disease Management Purchasing
Consortium for organizations under 100,000 lives. Experts in
PHM RFP creation, program implementation, program integration into

Administration – Best in class administration is provided by
Ceridian. Unlike some TPA or third party COBRA services, our contract
with Ceridian indemnifies our clients and transfers the liability
associated with COBRA Administration. Consistent administration by a
third party eliminates any consistency or reporting issues that appear
when employers change carriers for COBRA eligible benefits including
medical, dental, vision and FSA.

Employee Benefit Website – SBS has partnered with Online
Benefits to provide our clients with best in class employee benefit
communication. The "Benergy" communication portal provides 24/7 access
to a company tailored benefit site that incorporates benefit

- Clinical
Underwriting Audit – Many premium renewals are heavily
influenced by the estimated future costs of < 5% of your
employees: those with catastrophic claims. Our medical director reviews
the clinical history of each member to determine whether the actuaries
have taken into consideration where these patients are within their
clinical treatment. Since most insurance companies rarely coordinate
their underwriting estimates with their medical management departments,
this type of premium clinical audit gives SBS the ability to
significantly lower premium renewals not available to other benefit

- Escalated
Claim Resolution – While most claim issues are handled
without incident, occasionally a claim issue needs the expertise of a
clinician with managed care experience who can argue on behalf of the
employee or employer on issues of medical necessity, issues of benefit
coverage, or assist with the appeal process. Our Vice President of Medical Management
understands the system and can be your advocate whenever an escalated
