Steve joined Strategic Benefit Solutions as Wellness Director, bringing a wealth of expertise in Corporate Wellness Management. His responsibilities include providing SBS clients with advice on wellness program development, vendor RFP development, wellness vendor negotiations, establishing client internal wellness committees, the development of wellness committee agendas, incentive programs, wellness program outcomes measurement, and the integration of wellness health improvements into the proprietary SBS Employer Health Status Scorecard. By integrating wellness outcomes with quality of care measures, disease management outcomes and other productivity metrics, SBS clients receive an integrated view of the real value of all population health management activities.
Steve’s expertise and experience cover:
- Developing wellness program guidelines
- Negotiating and monitoring local and national wellness vendor contracts
- Dealing with union collective bargaining regarding health and fitness programming
- Coordination of multiple site wellness facility development, operation and programming
At SBS he not only does comprehensive needs analysis for each client’s organization, but also oversees the creation of a unique annual wellness program specific to each. By integrating health improvement programs into an organization’s benefit plan, HR policies, and corporate mission, SBS clients enjoy a healthier, more productive workforce that are more engaged in their own health and controlling healthcare costs.
He came to SBS after a distinguished career in directing wellness and physical rehabilitation programs at Ford Motor Company, a position he held for twenty-one years. At Ford, Steve was responsible for all of their 100,000+ employees and their health promotion programs nationwide.
Steve received a B.S. from the University of Delaware, an M.S. in Sports Medicine from the United States Sports Academy, Mobile, AL and an MBA from the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
